Grand Island Area Farmers Market Launches First Annual “Spring Fling” Festival This Saturday

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The Grand Island Area Farmers Market is excited to announce its 1st Annual Spring Fling Festival, taking place this Saturday, May 23rd from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Bosselman Enterprises Campus, 1607 S. Locust Street in Grand Island.

The Spring Fling Festival will officially kick off the 2026 outdoor market season with a full day of shopping (50+ vendors), food, family activities, entertainment, and community celebration. Guests can expect a vibrant atmosphere featuring local farmers, bakers, makers, food vendors, artisans, live entertainment, and activities for all ages.

“This is more than just opening day — it’s a celebration of community, local businesses, and everything people love about market season,” said Misty Schaecher, Executive Director of the Grand Island Area Farmers Market. “We’ve worked hard to create an exciting experience for families while continuing to support local growers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.”

Visitors are encouraged to come early, shop local, and enjoy the many attractions planned throughout the day. Organizers are also reminding attendees to use caution while driving near the market area due to increased traffic and pedestrian activity.

The market season will continue weekly throughout the summer and fall, bringing fresh produce, handmade goods, entertainment, and special events to the community.
