Grand Island Global Roots Festival on April 25th
Grand Island, NE — Grand Island’s Welcoming Initiative and Creative District are proud to announce the upcoming Global Roots Festival, a vibrant celebration of the cultures and communities that make Grand Island home. This free, family-friendly festival will take place on April 25th at the 4th Street Banquet Hall, and promises a joyful day filled with music, dance, food, and culture.
The event will highlight the rich cultural diversity of the community by showcasing traditions from both long-standing residents and newcomer communities. Through dynamic performances, handmade crafts, and a variety of global cuisines, Global Roots Festival offers something meaningful for everyone to enjoy. We will also be having an open showcase where our community members can showcase their talents.
“We are bringing back the long missed Central Nebraska Ethnic Festival, under a new name, now called Global Roots Festival. Join us in this journey as we continue to grow this festival to what it once was in the years to come.”
In the coming weeks, organizers will announce more details about the performance lineup, vendors, and activities, along with ways the community can get involved. The event is being thoughtfully planned with accessibility, family inclusion, cultural and community representation at its core.
Vendor, performer, open showcase, and volunteer applications are now open! To learn more or to get involved, visit the Global Roots Festival Facebook page.
Mark your calendars for a day of unity, pride, and celebration at Global Roots Festival — where Grand Island comes together.
