GRAND ISLAND - A Grand Island man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after officers discovered an active warrant and suspected illegal drugs during a traffic stop.

According to Grand Island Police, the incident occurred around 2:09 p.m. on March 31 near the intersection of West 2nd Street and North Elm Street. During the stop, officers made contact with Jeffrey Krueger, who was found to have an active Adams County warrant for his arrest.

Police took Krueger into custody on the warrant, which includes charges of theft involving $0–$500 and possession of a controlled substance.

Following the arrest, officers conducted a search and reported finding a small bag containing a crystalline substance in Krueger’s front pocket. The substance later tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine.

Krueger was transported to the Hall County Department of Corrections without incident. Authorities have not released additional details as the case moves forward.
