Grand Island Snags 12-5 Win At Fremont Friday

(Fremont, NE) - Brock Cushing struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led Grand Island past Fremont 7-4 on Friday. Cushing surrendered four hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings while walking two.

Grand Island got on the board in the top of the second inning after Gavin Ruether singled to right field, Brody Davidson tripled, and Miles Nelson singled to the right side of the infield, each scoring one run.

Grand Island added one run in the third after Ethan Mader hit a sacrifice fly.

Jaxon Moore took the loss for Fremont. The starter went four innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking two. Braedyn Towler appeared in relief for Grand Island.

Grand Island collected 11 hits in the game. Nelson and Sam Schroeder each collected two hits for Grand Island. Schroeder led Grand Island with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day.

Will Schleicher, Carver Kroeger, Cade Pribnow, and Max Cooper each collected one hit for Fremont. James Moore and Pribnow each drove in one run for Fremont.
