Harold Warp Pioneer Village Celebrates 73rd Anniversary During Kearney County Days with Historic Carousel Rides, Artisans, and Family Fun

MINDEN, Neb. — Harold Warp Pioneer Village is proud to announce its upcoming celebration during Kearney County Days on June 6–7. This year's festivities carry extra historical weight as the museum marks the 73rd anniversary of its grand opening, inviting locals and travelers alike to step back in time and walk through the evolution of American progress.

The two-day event will feature a robust lineup of historic and family-friendly yard games, including classic favorites like Corn Hole, Tic-tac-toe, and Graces. Visitors can experience history through live demonstrations by skilled heritage artisans, showcasing blacksmithing, broom making, loom weaving, and rope making.

A major highlight of the weekend will be the recently restored 1879 carousel, giving rides from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM after being closed to the public for 20 years. Attendees looking for a bite to eat can visit the authentic Valentine Diner, which will be open for lunch and serving summer treats, including walking tacos, ice cream, soda, and root beer floats while supplies last. For out-of-town guests looking to make it a full weekend getaway, Pioneer Village offers an on-site RV park and campground located directly adjacent to the museum grounds.

Coinciding with the start of the peak summer travel season, Pioneer Village will transition to its summer schedule. Starting Memorial Day, the museum's hours will be 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM every single day.
