Hastings earns hard fought series finale'
The Hastings Sodbusters edged Grand Island 4-2 on Sunday as they split eight games in a row between the two Diamond Baseball League teams. Bryce Andersen brought home the go ahead run for Hastings in the seventh. Andersen went 2-4 with two runs batted in. JJ Contreras was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Luke Larson picked up the win with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Spencer Schmidt worked the final two innings for the save.
Anderson Schirm doubled twice and went 3-4. Aidan Marshall hit a two run homer in the sixth, his first of the season for the Fightin' Cranes.

After an off day Monday. Grand Island hosts Sedalia in a three game series featuring the top two teams in the DBL. Games begin at 7pm at Ryder Park.
Hastings host Jefferson City in a three game series beginning Tuesday at Duncan Field.
