Hastings Enacts 72-Hour Parking Limit

Enforcement of the 72-hour parking limit in city-owned parking lots within the City of Hastings will begin Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026.

Members of the Hastings City Council voted 8-0 during their regular meeting on Aug. 24, 2026 to approve a resolution allowing parking signs to be placed at the entrance of city-owned parking lots within the City of Hastings to inform the public of the enforcement of the 72-hour parking regulations.

This includes the City Hall / City Auditorium parking lot, located between Denver Avenue and Hastings Avenue and Third Street and Fourth Street.

City code section 50-513 outlines uses prohibited in or on public right-of-way.

City code: 50-513(b) “It shall be unlawful for a person to park a vehicle upon a public right-of-way, public parking lot or other publicly owned place within the city for more than 72 consecutive hours.”

Please plan accordingly and move your vehicle within the 72-hour limit to avoid enforcement.

Violators will be subject to ticket/tow.
