Hastings Man Dies in Hamilton County Crash

At 1 PM on 8-26-2025, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one vehicle crash at mile marker 336 I-80 Eastbound. Multiple callers to 911 reported the driver was ejected.

Preliminary investigation found that Adrian Washington, 25 of Hastings was driving a 2016 Hyundai Sonata at high speed and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled numerous times in the south ditch of I-80, eventually landing in a bean field south of the interstate.

Hampton Fire Department and Aurora Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene and transported the driver to the Aurora Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office expresses our condolences to the Washington family. We would also like to express our gratitude to the numerous motorists who called 911 and attempted to care for Mr. Washington’s injuries before emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
