Hastings Solid Waste Landfill to Undergo Maintenance

The Hastings Solid Waste Landfill public operations will be limited on Tuesday, Aug. 18, to allow for scheduled maintenance of the facility’s truck scale.

The maintenance was postponed from the previously scheduled date of July 28 due to a parts issue. 

During the maintenance period, the landfill will be unable to weigh incoming loads. As a result, the landfill will not be accepting loads that would require scale weights. An exception will be made for customers bringing small, minimal, and lightweight loads that can be EASILY identified by the Scale Clerk as qualifying for the minimum disposal charge. These loads will be accepted at the discretion of landfill staff.

If you have questions, please call the scale house at (402) 463-0705 before bringing loads to the landfill on Aug. 18.

 The Hastings Landfill expects to resume normal operations the following day, on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
