Home Federal Dominates Kearney Again in Legion Baseball
Grand Island Home Federal captured a third straight run-rule victory from Kearney Pinnacle Bank on Sunday. The 10-2 outcome came in the winners bracket final of the A7 Area Tournament at Ryder Park.
The top six hitters in the Home Federal lineup went a combined 9-10 with two homers, two triples, three doubles, and 10 runs scored in the first two innings..
Bryson Walker doubled twice and knocked in four. Brody Davidson homered and tripled, with two RBI. Gabe Ruiz homered and doubled. Grayson Sack tripled, singled and scored twice to lead a 12 hit attack.
Miles Nelson tossed a three hitter with nine strikeouts in five innings.
Nelson and Coach Kirby Wells spoke after the game.
Kearney plays Hastings at 7pm Monday. Home Federal awaits the winner in the championship round at 5pm Tuesday at Ryder Park. That's a time change.
