Huskers Cap Solid Spring with Red-White Game

Memorial Stadium

Lincoln - Nebraska's offensive line showed a solid push, and the Husker running attack functioned well with a strong rotation of backs, as the Big Red celebrated the end of spring practice with a 118-play scrimmage in the annual Red-White Game at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Conor Booth capped a second-half rally for Team Nebraska's 22-17 win over Team Huskers, sprinting 32 yards for a game-winning touchdown on the final offensive play of the game.

Booth finished the day with 82 yards on 15 carries.

Jamal Rule sparked the Team Nebraska rally from a 14-6 halftime deficit with his explosive 75-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Rule led all rushers in the game with 119 yards on nine carries.

Quarterbacks TJ Lateef and Daniel Kaelin helped engineer Team Nebraska's fourth-quarter comeback, but it was Anthony Colandrea who guided Team Huskers to a 14-6 halftime lead with a pair of touchdown passes.

Colandrea guided two long scoring drives by completing 12-of-19 passes for 80 yards, including scoring strikes to Jacory Barney Jr. and Quinn Clark.

Running back Isaiah Mozee led the Team Huskers rushing attack with 35 yards on four carries in the first half, while Mekhi Nelson added 17 yards on four first-half totes in front of the 27,188 Husker fans in attendance on a sunny, near-perfect day for football.

Barney hauled in six first-half passes for 43 yards, including a six-yard touchdown, to go along with a 27-yard catch.

Nebraska's kicking game also showed well, going 4-for-4 on the day despite a swirling wind inside Memorial Stadium.
