Nunez singled home Buck in the third to extend the advantage to 4-0 after Buck had walked and stolen second.

Maine responded in the fourth when a two-run homer to left field brought the Black Bears within 4-2.

The Huskers answered with two more in the sixth. Nunez walked and Stokes singled before Worthley dropped down a bunt single to load the bases. Moyer singled to left to score Nunez, and Grego’s sacrifice fly to center plated Stokes to make it 6-2 through six innings.

Maine got one back in the seventh on a sacrifice fly to trim NU’s lead to 6-3, while Katskee recorded the final five outs on just nine pitches to clinch Nebraska’s 6-3 victory in game one.
