Huskers Sign Reyse Zobel

Nebraska softball announced the signing of transfer catcher Reyse Zobel on Wednesday. As a mid-year transfer from Southeast Community College, Zobel will not be eligible to compete during the 2027 season, but will serve a valuable role catching bullpens and contributing to practices and warmups.

Zobel attended SCC for her freshman year, where she started 27 games. She logged a .435 batting average with 30 hits, including nine doubles and eight homers. Zobel scored 19 runs and totaled 29 RBIs.

The Grand Island, Neb., native was named the Region 9 Catcher of the Year and was on the All-Region 9 team last season.

Zobel played her prep career at Grand Island Northwest High School and helped her team to two state titles. She was on the Super State First Team in 2023 and 2024, as well as First-Team All-State Class B in the same years. Zobel was on the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star All-State First Teams in 2023 and 2024.

Zobel is a strong academic addition to the Red Team, as she will graduate with an Associate of Arts degree in business along with her real estate license in December 2026.
