Huskers to Face Scarlet Knights in Big Ten First Round Wednesday

The Nebraska women’s basketball team (19-10, 10-8 Big Ten) earned the No. 10 seed in the upcoming TIAA Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament and will face Rutgers (11-18, 3-15 Big Ten) in the first round on Wednesday, March 5 at approximately 5 p.m. (CT).

The Huskers tied for eighth in the 18-team Big Ten regular-season standings following a 98-77 win at Northwestern on Sunday afternoon. Rutgers, which earned the No. 15 seed with a 75-70 win over Penn State on Sunday at Jersey Mike’s Arena in Piscataway, N.J., suffered a 69-62 loss in the only regular-season meeting with Nebraska in Piscataway (Jan. 12).

Nebraska’s game with Rutgers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis will be available for Husker fans to watch on Peacock. The game can also be heard across the Huskers Radio Network, including Huskers.com. Nebraska’s tip with Rutgers will come 25 minutes after the conclusion of the tournament’s opening game between No. 13 seed Minnesota and No. 12 seed Washington, which is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. (CT) tip.
