KC Rolls Denver In Season Opener

(Kansas City, MO) - Quarterback Patrick Mahomes made his return known on Monday night as the Kansas City Chiefs dominated the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium, 31-10. 

Kenneth Walker III rushed for 173 yards on 23 carries and scored two touchdowns. Early in the third quarter, Walker would rip a 60-yard touchdown run on a 4th-and-1 play. 

KC would also run a play from back in the day, busting out the single wing with everyone in the three-point stance. The fourth-quarter touchdown had backup quarterback Justin Fields in the backfield along with Mahomes, allowing Mahomes to shovel a pass to Walker for the six points. 

It was a tough night for the Denver Broncos offense under second-year quarterback Bo Nix, who turned the ball over twice. Nix would finish with 131 yards passing. Coming over from Miami, Jaylen Waddle was held to just one reception for 2 yards. 

KC snapped a three-game losing streak against Denver. Next action will be Sunday, September 20th vs the Indianapolis Colts. Pregame coverage starts at 6:00 pm on KRGI 1430/105.5.
