Lauren Jensen Earns BIG EAST Player of the Week
Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton senior Lauren Jensen earned the Bluejays first BIG EAST Player of the Week honor on Monday, November 25. Jensen led the Bluejays to an 80-74 win over #21 Nebraska on Friday, delivering 31 points against the Huskers.
Lauren scored 19 of her 31 in the second half, including six straight from the free throw line to secure the win in the final 90 seconds. Playing all 40 minutes, the Minnesota native was 10-for-19 from the field, hitting 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. She also dished out three assists and tied a career-high with two blocks. Lauren leads Creighton with 95 points over four games (23.8 ppg), topping 30 points in each of the Bluejays two home contests.
Jensen and the Bluejays begin play at the Emerald Coast Classic against Wichita State at 7:30 p.m. this evening, then will face either Syracuse or Missouri tomorrow.
