Local Author Rachel Goodwin to Present at Grand Island Public Library

Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library will welcome local children’s author Rachel Goodwin for a special presentation of her new picture book “My Super Senses” at 4 p.m. on Monday, November 17.

“My Super Senses” is inspired by Goodwin’s daughter Isabella, a bright and curious 4-year-old with sensory processing disorder. The book follows Isabella as she navigates a world where sounds, sights and textures are experienced more intensely. With the support of her family, she discovers practical tools to manage her environment, understand her emotions and embrace her unique strengths.

The story is designed to help children and families better understand sensory differences in a supportive and relatable way, offering young readers an encouraging look at how challenges can be met with creativity, resilience and self-confidence.

For more information, please contact Youth & Family Services Librarian Laura Fentress at [email protected] or by calling (308) 385-5333, Ext. 3104. Additional information about Rachel Goodwin can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/people/Rachel-Goodwin-Author/61580213930419/.
