Lopers Go 3-1 in Dallas

 The seventh-ranked Nebraska Kearney volleyball team had eight different players register a kill and held Mississippi Christian to a negative .085 efficiency to record a sweep (-4, 16, -15) Saturday morning in Dallas.

The match was part of the "Dallas Classic" hosted by the Dallas Baptist Patriots. UNK finished 3-1 while the Choctaws, previously known as Mississippi College, drop to 0-4. ​

UNK had 6.5 team blocks and 51 digs with MC at 30 attack errors and only 21 kills over 106 swings. Junior libero Ellie Spang (Ft. Wayne, Ind.) had 18 digs with junior setter Callie Squiers (Kearney) adding 10 more. At the next, middle Sydney Davis (Dannebrog) had four block assists with right side Bryn McNair (Imperial) at three.

Right side Brynn Stowell (Olathe, Kans.) had the hottest hand offensively, hitting .313 with seven kills while outside Carly Purdy (North Platte) had eight kills in 19 attempts. Finally, Spang served up three of UNK's five aces.

The Lopers host NAIA Peru State (5-1) Tuesday at Buckle Court before heading to Northern California for another tourney next weekend.
