Mailing of General Election Ballots has Begun. Sample Ballots Available Now on NEBRASKA VOTER CHECK Ne.gov/go/votercheck

Grand Island, Nebr. – September 28 marks the start of mailing ballots to Nebraska voters for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election. Hall County mailed more than 1,600 ballots to voters on Monday, said Hall County Election Commissioner Tracy Overstreet.

“The November 3 General Election ballot is a little longer ballot than voters have seen in recent years,” Overstreet said. “It’s a two-page ballot – one page of candidates and one page of state issues.”

To help Hall County voters prepare for the two-page ballot, individual sample ballots have been loaded onto the NEBRASKA VOTER CHECK website. Voters enter their name and county name and will then see their own specific ballot. Overstreet said voters are allowed to print and mark a sample ballot and use it as a guide during early voting or on Election Day.

Besides the start of mailing ballots this week, early voting in person begins next week. “In-person early voting runs October 5 through November 2 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,” Overstreet said. “We will have polling booths set up in the hallway for voters who are ready to vote the same day they get the ballot, or they may take the ballot home with them.”

All early ballots must be returned to the Hall County Election office by 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, which is Election Day. Ballots may be mailed back, inserted into the election drop box outside the Hall County Administration Building or returned in person to the Election Office.

The NEBRASKA VOTER CHECK site will show when early ballots have been checked in. Voters may also use NEBRASKA VOTER CHECK  to make updates to their voter record – such as a name change, address change or political party change. The deadline for online voter record updates is October 16. The deadline for in-person updates is October 23, which is also the last day that ballots may be mailed.

“I encourage all Hall County voters to get ready for the November 3 general election by updating their voter records and looking at their sample ballot on NEBRASKA VOTER CHECK,” Overstreet said.
