Moo End Fightin' Cranes' Win Streak

Fremont got timely hitting and held a potent offense at bay in a 5-3 win over the Grand Island Fightin' Cranes on Wednesday. Cody Bruss scattered five hits over seven innings to get the win despite walking eight and hitting two. Eamon O'Gorman worked the final two innings for the save. 

Sawyer Slade provided an inside the park home run as the highlight for Grand Island. Slade hit his league leading 11th homer in his final game for the Cranes. He'll be returning to the College of Southern Idaho for his sophomore year.

Broxton Barrientos went 2-4 and scored a run for Grand Island.

The Fightin' Cranes saw their nine game winning streak come to an end and fell a game-and-a-half behind Sedalia for first in the DBL with three games to play. Sedalia whipped Jefferson City 17-1.The top team in the standings will host the three game championship series beginning Monday.

Grand Island hosts Salina, KS for a two game series beginning Thursday at 7pm. Sedalia continues its home series with Jefferson City. 

Hastings defeated Salina on Wednesday 11-4.
