NDOT News Release -- April 2025 Traffic Fatality Toll

May 20, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of April 2025, twenty people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation. 

¨      These 20 fatalities occurred in 19 fatal crashes.
¨      Four of the fifteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, seven were using a seatbelt, and four had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
¨      Fourteen of the fatalities were in rural locations.
¨      There was one fatality on the interstate, ten on other highways, and nine on local roads.
¨      One of the fatalities was a pedestrian.
¨      Four of the fatalities were motorcyclists.
