NDOT Reminds Travelers of Construction Projects Ahead of Men’s College World Series

Nebraska Department of Transportation

June 10, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — As baseball fans prepare to head to Omaha, the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) reminds drivers to be ready for heavier-than-normal traffic, especially along Interstate 80 (I-80).

If you’re headed to Omaha for the 2025 Men’s College World Series at Charles Schwab Field, expect delays and slow traffic in construction zones, especially near downtown Omaha and west Omaha.

NDOT reminds travelers to slow down and pay attention in construction zones. Construction is active in the following areas:

On the way to Omaha:
I-80 from Hwy 50 (MM 440) to Q Street (MM 444). Traffic can be backed up in this area. Plan for
delays and prepare to zipper merge when necessary. This speed limit is 55 miles per hour in this construction zone.

I-80 from the Pleasant Dale interchange (MM 388) to NW 48th Street interchange (MM 395) in
Lincoln. The speed limit is 65 miles per hour in this construction zone.

On the way to the Tournament (Charles Schwab Field):

I-480 between 28th Street (MM 2) and 30th Street (MM 2C). Traffic can be backed up in this
area. Plan for delays and prepare to zipper merge when necessary.

I-480 Bridge from 14th Street (MM 3) to the Iowa State Line. The right lane is closed, and traffic
can back up. Plan for delays and prepare to zipper merge when necessary.

Before hitting the road, set your favorite navigation app with your destination. This is a valuable resource for traffic updates along your route. Just as importantly, remember to put the phone down, buckle up before you leave and drive the posted speed limit.
