• Nebraska appeared at No. 24 in the D1Baseball rankings and No. 22 in Perfect Game's Top 25 after going 4-1 last week at Wichita State and Michigan.

• The No. 24 ranking is the program's first top-25 appearance since spending the first two weeks of the 2025 campaign in the polls, where the Huskers debuted at No. 24 in the preseason and rose to No. 23 in week two.

• Nebraska is one of four Big Ten teams to appear in the rankings this week, with UCLA (No. 1), USC (No. 12) and Oregon (No. 20) also landing spots in D1Baseball's Top 25 poll.

Bender Gets the Nod on Tuesday Night

• Sophomore Pryce Bender is set to toe the rubber and make his third start of the season tomorrow night at Kansas State.

• Bender is 0-0 on the season and has compiled a 4.26 ERA and seven strikeouts in 12.2 innings of work, while opposing hitters have posted a .229 batting average against the right-hander.

Big Red Set For Sixth Midweek Matchup

• Nebraska comes into Tuesday night's tilt at Kansas State with a 5-0 record in midweek games this season.

• In the five midweek contests, the Husker offense is batting .337 at the plate with 12 doubles and two home runs while scoring 8.4 runs per game.

•The NU pitching staff has recorded a 2.30 ERA and a 4.58 strikeout-to-walk ratio while limiting opponents to a .201 batting average in the midweek games.

Notables on the 2026 Campaign

• With wins against No. 7 Auburn and No. 16 Florida State this season, the Big Red are 8-5 against ranked opponents in the last two seasons.

• The Huskers have recorded three walk-off victories this season. Going back to the final three weeks of the regular season in 2025, the Big Red have totaled seven wins in walk-off fashion.

• Nebraska has run-ruled their opponent four times and has scored 10-plus runs six times through 21 games this season.

• The NU pitching staff has recorded 14 strikeouts in four of the first 24 games this season, after totaling just six such performances combined in 2024 and 2025.

• Joshua Overbeek has reached base safely in 25 consecutive games going back to last season, while Mac Moyer has reached base safely in all 23 games he has appeared in this season.

• Cooper Katskee is off to a strong start for the NU pitching staff and ranks 10th nationally with a 0.74 WHIP and is 22nd in strikeout-to-walk ratio (8.50), 36th in hits allowed/9 inn. (5.26) and 41st in walks allowed/9 inn. (1.40).

• Dylan Carey ranks among the top 10 of DI's active career leaders in four categories, including second in at-bats (763), third in doubles (55), fifth in games played (199) and eight in hits (220).

• Dylan Carey was named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch list, while Ty Horn and Gavin Blachowicz landed on the Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List.

• The Big Red is 9-0 in home games this season, recording their best home start since opening the home slate with an 11-0 record in 2015.

All Three Facets

• Nebraska is one of five teams nationally to be ranked in the top 35 in all three facets of the game.

• The Huskers are ranked 31st in batting average (.313), 34th in earned run average (4.00) and 22nd in fielding percentage (.982).

Carey's RBI Production Leads Husker Offense

• Dylan Carey has been the leader of the NU offense this season, hitting .394 at the plate with eight doubles, two triples, six homers, 31 RBI and 21 runs scored.

• The senior leads the Big Red with 14 multi-hit performances and eight multi-RBI contests this season.

• With one game to spare, Carey is the sixth Husker since 2005 to drive in 30-plus runs in Nebraska's first 25 games to start the season, joining Josh Caron (2024), Brice Matthews (2023), Max Anderson (2023), Adam Bailey (2009, 2010) and Brandon Fusilier (2005).

Lucky Number Six in the Bolt Era

• Nebraska is 144-29 under head coach Will Bolt when scoring at least six runs.

• The Husker offense has scored six-plus runs in 15 of the 18 victories this season after reaching the six-run mark 32 times last season, compiling a 25-7 record.

• Nebraska scored six-plus runs in 34 contests (28-6) in 2024 after tallying at least six runs 33 times (26-7) in 2023, 23 times (19-4) in 2022, 28 times (26-2) in 2021 and seven times (5-2) in 2020.

Carey Nearing All-Time Doubles Record

• With 55 career doubles in four seasons at Nebraska, Dylan Carey needs two doubles to become the program's all-time leader.

• Carey is tied for second all-time after doubling eight times through Nebraska's 24 games this season.

• The Castle Rock, Colo., native is tied with Daniel Bruce (2002-05) and Matt Hopper (2000-03) and is one shy of tying Will Bolt 's (1999-02) program record of 56 career doubles.

Going the Extra Mile

• The Huskers have recorded at least four extra-base hits in 122 games under head coach Will Bolt, posting a 97-24-1 mark in those games since 2020.

• Additionally, the Big Red are 63-9-1 when the Husker offense tallies five-plus extra-base hits under Bolt.

Get a Lead for the Bullpen

• During Will Bolt's tenure at Nebraska, the Huskers are 153-19-1 since the start of the 2020 season when they lead after the sixth inning.

• The Big Red are 149-17 when leading after seven innings and hold a 147-11 mark when leading after the eighth inning since 2020.
