Nebraska vs. South Dakota State

• Nebraska is 18-4 in 22 all-time meetings against South Dakota State.

• The Jackrabbits picked up a 10-6 win over the Big Red in their last meeting in 2024 after last season's midweek contest was canceled due to inclement weather.

Huskers in Home Openers

• Nebraska is 48-8 in home openers since the 1970 campaign.

• Since the opening of Haymarket Park in 2002, the Huskers are 20-3 in home openers.

• The Big Red have won four of its last six home openers after suffering a 11-5 setback to Washington last season.

A Look at the Midweek Starters

• Cooper Katskee takes the mound on Tuesday for his first start as a Husker. The right-hander has appeared in two relief outings and has struck out six in 4.2 shutout innings against No. 16 Florida State and No. 7 Auburn.

• As a Third-Team All-American and MAC Pitcher of the Year, Katskee went 11-2 with a 3.08 ERA and 70 strikeouts in 84.2 innings at Miami (OH) last season.

• Pryce Bender gets the nod on Wednesday after picking up his first career save last weekend against No. 7 Auburn. Bender has made two appearances out of the bullpen this season, posting a 2.45 ERA with one hit and run allowed in 3.2 innings of work.

Bats in the Husker Lineup

• Mac Moyer has appeared in all 10 games, making seven starts, and is batting .400 with a pair of doubles and holds a team-leading .538 on-base percentage and nine walks drawn on the season.

• Jett Buck is batting .317 at the plate with three doubles, a homer, seven RBI and five runs scored after recording his first home run as a Husker last weekend at No. 7 Auburn.

• Case Sanderson has scored a team-best 12 runs and is second on the team with seven walks and a .489 on-base percentage while hitting .368 at the plate with five doubles.

• Joshua Overbeek sits 23rd nationally with six doubles this season. The switch-hitting senior holds a .368 batting average at the plate while driving in 10 runs and scoring 10 times through NU's first 10 games on the year.

• Dylan Carey is hitting a team-high .444 at the plate and ranks third and 19th nationally, respectively, with 2.0 hits/game and 20 hits on the year. The senior leads the NU offense with 15 RBI and has recorded nine extra-base hits, including five doubles, a triple and three homers.

• Cole Kitchens has doubled four times and is second on the team with 11 runs driven in while swinging .263 at the plate as NU's designated hitter.

• Jeter Worthley has recorded three doubles and scored four times, while Miken Miller has driven in a run and tallied two hits and a run scored while splitting time behind the plate this season.

• Will Jesske is hitting .345 with three doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and six runs scored with a 1.183 OPS

Notable Arms in the Pen

• Ryan Harrahill is one of two NU relievers with four appearances this season and holds a 1.08 ERA with one run allowed on three hits with six punchouts in 8.1 innings of work.

• Kevin Mannell has recorded a save and 2.70 ERA in 6.2 innings across four relief appearances after dealing a career-high four innings at No. 7 Auburn on Sunday.

• Chase Olson is 1-0 in three relief appearances and has pitched three scoreless frames this season.

• J'Shawn Unger has posted a 4.76 ERA in three relief outings, surrendering three runs on two hits in 5.2 innings while limiting opponents to a .105 batting average.

• Caleb Clark has made a team-high five relief appearances, allowing just one hit in 3.1 innings, while Tucker Timmerman, Grant Cleavinger and Colin Nowaczyk had toed the rubber three times each for the NU pitching staff this year.

Lucky Number Six in the Bolt Era

• Nebraska is 134-29 under head coach Will Bolt when scoring at least six runs.

• The Husker offense has scored six-plus runs in all five victories this season after reaching the six-run mark 32 times last season, compiling a 25-7 record.

• Nebraska scored six-plus runs in 34 contests (28-6) in 2024 after tallying at least six runs 33 times (26-7) in 2024, 23 times (19-4) in 2022, 28 times (26-2) in 2021 and seven times (5-2) in 2020.

Going the Extra Mile

• The Huskers have recorded at least four extra-base hits in 118 games under head coach Will Bolt, posting a 93-24-1 mark in those games since 2020.

• Additionally, the Big Red are 62-9-1 when the Husker offense tallies five-plus extra-base hits under Bolt.

Carey Nearing All-Time Doubles Record

• With 52 career doubles in four seasons at Nebraska, Dylan Carey needs five doubles to become the program's all-time leader.

• Carey is fifth all-time after recording two doubles in last weekend's series at No. 7 Auburn.

• The Castle Rock, Colo., native is one shy of tying Alex Gordon (2003-05) in fourth and three away from Daniel Bruce (2002-05) and Matt Hopper (2000-03) in second.

Carey Joins 200-Career Hit Club

• Dylan Carey became the 28th member of Nebraska's 200-hit club with five hits in a road series at No. 7 Auburn.

• Carey has averaged 62 hits over the last two seasons, which would put him just outside NU's all-time top 10 if he were to reach that average in 2026.

• Before Carey, the Huskers had five players join the 200-hit club since 2015, including second-round draft picks Max Anderson (2021-23) and Ryan Boldt (2014-16).
