Nebraska vs. South Dakota State
• Wednesday night’s matchup between Nebraska and South Dakota State marks the third all-time meeting between the two programs, including the first since 2007.
• In their last meeting, the Huskers swept the Jackrabbits in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Lincoln.
• Nebraska and South Dakota State first met in 1975, where the Big Red took two of three sets against SDSU.
Huskers At No. 1 in Latest AVCA Poll
• The Nebraska volleyball team was ranked No. 1 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll released on Aug. 31.
• The Huskers collected 1,569 points in the poll and came in ahead of No. 2 Pitt (1,510), No. 3 Kentucky (1,461), No. 4 Stanford (1,411) and No. 5 Wisconsin (1,211). Nebraska got 57 first-place votes, followed by Pitt with the remaining six.
• It marks Nebraska’s 125th week all-time at No. 1 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, the most of any program in the nation. The Huskers have been ranked No. 1 to start a season in three of the last five years, including 2025 and 2022.
Reilly Named Big Ten Setter of the Week
• Senior Bergen Reilly was named Big Ten Setter of the Week on Monday.
• Reilly led the top-ranked Huskers to a pair of sweeps against UNLV and No. 2 Texas and was named the Most Valuable Player at the Players Era Showcase.
• Reilly set the Huskers to a .315 hitting percentage on the weekend, and her serving fueled a 10-0 run against the second-ranked Longhorns on Sunday afternoon.
• In the sweep against UNLV, Reilly recorded a double-double with 32 assists and 10 digs and added five kills, three blocks and a service ace.
• Against No. 2 Texas on Sunday, Reilly had 30 assists, five digs, two kills, a pair of service aces and a block.
• Reilly has now earned 14 career Big Ten Setter of the Week honors.
NU Sweeps Way Through Players Era Showcase
• Nebraska opened the season with sweeps over UNLV and No. 2 Texas at the Players Era Showcase last weekend in Last Vegas.
• The Huskers improved to 45-7 all-time in season openers after Saturday’s sweep of the Rebels.
• Harper Murray recorded a match-high 11 kills on .364 hitting and added three blocks. Andi Jackson totaled eight kills and five blocks, and Teraya Sigler tallied eight kills and hit .467 in the match.
• With Sunday’s sweep against the No. 2 Longhorns, the Big Red are now 4-3 all-time in 1 vs. 2 matchups.
• Andi Jackson led all Huskers with nine kills, hitting .571 with a pair of blocks. Manaia Ogbechie led Nebraska with seven blocks and also recorded seven kills.
Huskers Capture Spikes Under the Lights Title
• Nebraska was crowned the inaugural Spikes Under the Lights champions after sweeping a pair of exhibitions against No. 17 Florida and No. 11 SMU on August 27 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
• The Huskers picked up the 2-0 sweep (21-19, 21-18) of the Gators behind Teraya Sigler’s six kills, followed by Virginia Adriano and Andi Jackson with five kills each.
• The Big Red clinched the championship in dominant fashion, hitting .339 as a team and limiting the Mustangs to an .068 hitting percentage.
• Sigler recorded seven kills and five digs, and Harper Murray totaled six kills and five digs.
• Manaia Ogbechie, Andi Jackson and Skyler Pierce added three kills apiece.
Acing The Test Through Opening Weekend
• Through two matches, Nebraska has picked up 13 service aces in six sets for a rate of 2.17 per set.
• The 13 aces are the most through the first two matches of the regular season since 2013, when the Huskers tallied 15 in the first two matches of the 2013 season against ULM and Auburn.
• The Huskers finished with six aces against UNLV (8/29) and seven vs. No. 2 Texas (8/30) last weekend at the Players Era Showcase.
• Andi Jackson, Teraya Sigler, and Bergen Reilly all lead the Huskers with three aces. Olivia Mauch and Laney Choboy also recorded two each.
NU’s Two-Way Dominance
• After leading the country in hitting percentage and opposing hitting percentage last season, Nebraska became the first team to finish first nationally in both categories since at least 2014, the NCAA’s first season tracking opposing hitting percentages.
• The Husker offense hit at a school-record pace of .351 and hit over .400 in nine matches last season, which is a school record in the rally-scoring era.
• The NU defense has led the nation in opponent hitting percentage three times in the last four seasons (2022, 2023 and 2025) after limiting opponents to a pace of .129 in 2025.
• Through two matches in 2026, Nebraska has held opponents to an .099 hitting percentage, which ranks 17th nationally and second in the Big Ten.
• The Huskers limited UNLV to an .054 hitting percentage and then-No. 2 Texas to a .152 clip.
NU’s Race to the Red Zone
• Nebraska is 102-0 in sets under head coach Dani Busboom Kelly when reaching the red zone (20 points) first.
• The Huskers are 6-0 when reaching the red zone first in 2026 after posting a 96-0 mark last season.
Big Red on the Run
• Nebraska has recorded eight runs of five-plus unanswered points through two matches this season, highlighted by a season-long streak of 10 in the first set against No. 2 Texas on Aug. 30.
• The Huskers have scored five consecutive points on three occasions and have scored six straight points four times.
Four Huskers Make Debut against UNLV
• Sophomores Kenna Cogill, Ryan Hunter and Keri Leimbach and freshman Keoni Williams made their debut as a Husker against UNLV, with all four seeing one set of action in the season opener.
• Leimbach recorded an assist and a dig, and Williams added one block and an assist.
• Cogill tallied one dig while Hunter posted one kill in the Huskers’ sweep of the Rebels.
