Nebraska State Fair Offers Free Parking and Shuttle Service
The Nebraska State Fair has made it easy for guests to quickly get to the Fair safely and comfortably, with free parking, convenient shuttle service, and improved traffic flow thanks to continued partnerships with the City of Grand Island.
“Our goal is to ensure we do whatever we can to enhance guest experience,” said Courtney Glock, Nebraska State Fair marketing director.
Free parking is available in the lots along State Fair Boulevard near the main gate and in the Luebbe East lot off Stuhr Road at Gate 10. For those who prefer to skip the drive, the Fair also offers free off-site shuttle buses from two Grand Island locations: Central Community College in south Grand Island and Sam’s Club in northwest Grand Island.
Shuttles depart from the off-site locations at the top of each hour beginning at 9 a.m. daily, and return from the Fair at the bottom of each hour. The last shuttle leaves the Fair at 10:30 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends. Times are subject to change. The Fair covers the cost of the shuttle service so guests can ride for free.
“When you get off the shuttle buses at the Fair, you’re dropped right at the 4-H and FFA Building,” Glock said. “From there, you can walk right in and explore competitive exhibits, the UNL Dairy Store, honey products, and much more.”
The Fair has also worked closely with the Grand Island Police Department and City of Grand Island Streets Department over the past decade to improve traffic safety and flow. New stop lights, crosswalks, and on-site patrol officers help keep vehicles moving and pedestrians safe.
Guests can save time at the gate by purchasing tickets in advance at StateFair.org or visiting the Nebraska Building Box Office before August 21. Self-serve kiosks will also be available at the gates, along with staffed ticket booths for those who prefer to purchase on site.
The 2025 Nebraska State Fair offers all fairgoers the chance to Showcase Your Fair Face, August 22 through September 1 at Fonner Park in Grand Island. The fair has drawn more than 4 million visitors to its home in Grand Island since 2010.
