Nebraska Judicial Branch

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen thanked Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Lindsey Miller-Lerman for her long standing public service. In her letter to the Governor, Miller-Lerman said she intends to retire, effective October 31.

Miller-Lerman, who was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1998 said, “It has been a privilege to serve the citizens of Nebraska as an appellate judge since 1992.” Miller-Lerman was the first woman appointed to the Nebraska Supreme Court. Prior to that, she was among the first justices appointed to the Nebraska Court of Appeals.

The Judicial Nominating Commission for the Supreme Court’s Second District will solicit the names of potential nominees to be presented to Gov. Pillen for consideration of appointment. That district consists of Douglas County.
