The No. 7/7 (AP/Coaches) Nebraska men's basketball team returns home Wednesday evening, as the Huskers host Washington. Tipoff from a sold out Pinnacle Bank Arena is set for shortly after 8 p.m. and the game will be carried nationally on BTN and broadcast on the Huskers Radio Network, as well as on Huskers.com and on the official Huskers app.

The Huskers (18-0, 7-0 B1G) come off a 77-58 win at Northwestern last Saturday. Pryce Sandfort and Braden Frager combined for 44 points, as Nebraska shot 56 percent from the field in the second half and held Northwestern to its lowest total of the season. Sandfort led NU with 22 points, while Frager had 20 markers off the bench, his fourth 20-point game of the season. The duo combined for 10 points in a decisive 17-3 second-half run that turned a 46-41 lead into a 19-point cushion.

Sandfort has been one of the breakout stars in the Big Ten, as he averages 16.7 points per game and comes off back-to-back 20-point efforts. The 6-foot-7 wing is second in the Big Ten in 3-pointers with 60 and averaged 25.0 ppg on 57 percent shooting in two wins last week.

The Huskers, whose 18-0 start is the best in program history, climbed to seventh in Monday's AP poll, marking the highest ranking in school history.  The Huskers are 7-0 in the Big Ten and a win against Washington on Wednesday would give the Huskers their first 8-0 start in conference play since the 1965-66 season.

Numbers to Know
2010-11 - Nebraska is first team since Ohio State in 2010-11 to start 18-0 or better, as the Buckeyes started 24-0 that season. NU has won 22 straight, the longest win streak by a B1G team since 2010-11.

6.0 - With 128 career steals, Sam Hoiberg is now nine away from tying Benny Parker (137, 2013-16) and Larry Florence (137, 1997-2000) for 10th on NU's career steals list.

1009 - Rienk Mast now has 1,009 career rebounds and is one of only three active players with at least 1,000 career rebounds, joining Notre Dame's Carson Towt and Gonzaga's Graham Ike on that list.

54.6 - Nebraska's top four scorers (Rienk Mast, Pryce Sandfort, Braden Frager and Jamarques Lawrence) are combining for 54.6 points per game. None of them were in the Husker lineup last season.

10 - Nebraska is tied with Duke for third nationally with 10 Q1+Q2 wins as of Jan. 19. The only teams with more are UConn and Michigan with 11 apiece.

80+ - Nebraska is 49-10 (.827) under Fred Hoiberg when scoring 80 or more points, including a 40-7 mark over the last three-plus seasons. Of those seven losses since the start of 2022-23, four came in overtime.

Huskers Earn Best Ranking In School History
The Huskers continued their climb the polls on Jan. 19, moving to seventh in both the AP and Coaches polls.

• The No. 7 ranking is the highest NU has ever been ranked. NU was ranked eighth last week and on Feb. 21, 1966.

• Prior to this season, the 1965-66 season was the only other season where Nebraska was ranked in the top 10. NU spent four straight weeks in the poll (Feb. 7-28) in 1965-66, reaching eighth on Feb. 21, 1966. That season, the Huskers went 20-5, including 12-2 in the Big Eight to finish second to Kansas, but did not advance to postseason play. That Kansas team that won the Big Eight lost to eventual NCAA Champion Texas Western, 81-80, in double overtime in the Midwest Regional Final.

• The Huskers improved to 47-22 (.681) all-time when ranked in the AP poll following the win at Northwestern.

• Prior to its 2025-26 poll debut on Dec. 8, the Huskers had not been ranked in the AP poll since Dec. 31, 2018.

• Nebraska has been ranked in each of the past six polls, including the last three weeks in the top 10.

Frager Earns Big Ten Honor
Nebraska’s Braden Frager was named Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week on Jan. 19.
The 6-foot-7 forward from Lincoln Southwest averaged 21.5 points per game on 59 percent shooting, including 50 percent from 3-point range, and 3.5 rebounds per game in the Huskers' 2-0 week.  It is the third time that Frager has won the weekly award, which is the most by a Husker since Bryce McGowens was an eight-time weekly honoree in 2021-22.

Frager set a career high with 23 points and tied a school freshman mark with seven 3-pointers in Nebraska’s 90-55 win. He continued his stellar week in the Huskers 77-58 win at Northwestern, finishing with 20 points and four rebounds in 32 minutes.

Worth Noting
• NU enters the week as one of three remaining unbeaten teams in Division I, joining Arizona and Miami (Ohio).

• According to BTN Research, Nebraska's 18-0 start is the best by a Big Ten team since Ohio State opened 2010-11 season with 24 straight wins.

• Nebraska’s 7-0 Big Ten start is the program's best conference start of the Big Ten era (2011-12 to present). A win against Washington would give NU an 8-0 conference mark for the first time since opening the 1965-66 season with a 10-0 mark.

• Nebraska climbed to No. 6 in the NET following the win at Northwestern. The Huskers are one of four teams in the top eight of the NET (No. 1 Michigan, No. 5 Purdue, No. 6 Nebraska, No. 7 Illinois) as of Jan. 19. No conference has more teams in the top 25 and top 50 of the NET than the Big Ten.

• As of Jan. 19, Nebraska's five Quad 1 wins ties for fourth nationally, trailing only Duke (eight), Arizona (seven) and Purdue (six).  NU is one of 10 teams nationally with five or more Quad 1 wins. NU is also 10-0 in the first two quads.

• Nebraska comes into the Washington game with 22 straight wins, breaking the school record for consecutive wins. The 21 straight wins broke the mark of 14 set two other times (1912-13 and 1990-91). It is the longest active streak in the nation and dates back to the first round of the 2025 College Basketball Crown. Before the current win streak, NU's longest streak under Fred Hoiberg was a seven-game streak to start the 2023-24 season. The win over MSU on Jan. 2 is the only time in the 22-game win streak that NU was held under 1.00 points per possession.

• NU's team 2.02-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks third nationally as of Jan. 19. It is on track to shatter the school mark of 1.81 set in 1984-85. • Nebraska enters the Washington game ranked fifth in the Big Ten and 17th nationally with 18.3 assists per game. It is an increase of 4.5 assists per game from last season. Nebraska's highest assist per game total under Hoiberg is 15.3 per game in 2023-24.
