Northwest Girls Season Comes To An End

(Gretna, NE)- The Northwest girls' basketball season ended on Saturday afternoon at Gretna East as the Griffins defeated the Vikings 58-26. It was the second time the two teams played each other. In fact the second game of the season also had the same result from December 7th as Gretna East won 58-26 at Northwest.
Gretna East's quickness and pressure were bothersome all afternoon. Northwest trailed 24-5 at the end of the first quarter. The Vikings trailed 43-11 at halftime. The Vikings were down 55-20 at the end of the third quarter. All of the points in the first half came from senior Reagan McIntyr, who finished with 17 on the day to lead the Vikings.
The Northwest season comes to an end with a record of 17-9, improving on last years 12-13 mark. Gretna East advances to state for the second year in a row after finishing in the semi-finals last year. This time, the Giffins head to Lincoln with an 18-6 record.
