Northwest Softball Takes On Beatrice In The Class B Title Game Today

(Lincoln, NE) - The Northwest softball team looks to claim its third title in three years on Monday, taking on the Beatrice Lady O at Bowlin Stadium.
The Vikings (29-2) have won 27 games in a row, including three games at the state tournament last week. Northwest defeated Ralston in the opening round 7-2 and then took down Blair 8-0 on Wednesday. The Vikings then defeated Skutt 4-1 on Thursday to advance to the state championship game for the third time in school history.
Beatrice (32-4) comes in on a 24-game winning streak, winning also three games last week to advance to the title game for the second consecutive year. Last season, the Lady O defeated Hastings 1-0 to claim the title. Beatrice won an opening round game last Wednesday, 12-5 over Hastings, and then defeated Skutt Catholic 10-9 in the second game of the day. Beatrice advanced to the championship game with a Thursday win over Waverly, 16-9.
