Northwest Volleyball Defeats Aurora, 3-1

(Aurora, NE) - The Northwest volleyball team defeated Aurora on Tuesday night, three sets to one. The Vikings claimed the first set, 25-23. The two teams went back and forth to open the match. 

The second set saw Aurora winning 25-19. The Vikings had multiple errors that ran together that but the Vikings behind and could never dig their way back into the set. 

Tied a set apiece, Northwest controlled the third, winning 25-13, and then claimed the match 25-20 in the fourth set. The Vikings got a big night from behind the service line from Halle Rice. The senior had five ace serves with 13 service points. Ava Janulewicz paced Northwest with 25 kills. Elli Payne had 8 kills. Nasya Anderson chipped in 6 kills. 

Kaitlyn Staher had 18 kills for Aurora, followed by 13 from Elizabeth Luebbe. The Huskies drop to 13-7 on the season and will next be in action on Thursday, September 24th at Central City. Listen live on 97.3 The Wolf. 

The Vikings move to 13-1 and will host Lexington and Kearney Catholic on Thursday, September 24th for a triangular.
