Northwest Volleyball Defeats Kearney In Five Sets

(Grand Island, NE) - The Northwest Viking volleyball team would get a five-set winner on Tuesday night, defeating Kearney, 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 15-25, 15-12 (3-2). 

Sophomore outside Ava Janulewicz would lead the way for the Vikings with 26 kills on the night. Freshman Elli Payne chipped in 11 kills, and Jr Nasya Anderson had 8 kills. 

The Vikings would get 18 digs from Jr Halle Rice and 15 from Jr Kenna Bowman. Bowman would also have 47 set assists on the night. 

Northwest volleyball is now 3-2 on the season and will next be in action on Tuesday, September 9th, hosting Crete at 7:00 pm. The Vikings will then hit the road on Thursday, September 11th, traveling to North Platte for a 7:00 pm match-up on 103.1 FM.
