Olympiad 5K Run & 1.5-Mile Walk set for June 27
KEARNEY -CHI Health Good Samaritan, in collaboration with Kearney Park and Recreation, will host the annual Good Samaritan Olympiad 5K and 1.5 Mile Walk on Saturday, June 27. Welcoming runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, this widely attended event is a long-standing central Nebraska tradition.
The race is set to start at 7:30 am, with check-in and packet pick-up available from 6:30 am to 7:15 am.
Due to road closure of A Avenue near the hospital, this year's event will move to The Archway, 3060 East 1st St.
The 3.1-mile run course is a loop that includes both paved roads and a trail west of the Archway. The run will be professionally chip-timed by TimerGuys. Medals will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runners in each age division.
Walkers will follow a separate, shorter 1.5-mile course on a paved trail located to the east.
Participants must register by June 18 to receive a commemorative T-shirt. Registration is available online only and will close 30 minutes prior to the race start. Cost for registration is $20, plus processing fees. To register, visit: https://runsignup.com/Race/NE/Kearney/Olympiad5kRun15MileWalk
