Public Power Week Celebrated in Hastings
Oct. 4-10, 2026 is Public Power Week as well as Public Natural Gas Week.
The American Public Power Association and American Public Gas Association lead a celebration each year of public power and public natural gas utilities across the country and the values they bring to our communities.
Locally owned and operated electric and natural gas service providers like the City of Hastings Utility Department have always been at the forefront of serving the community through providing local jobs, competitive prices, some of the best reliability around, and good customer service.
This is an opportunity to recognize our employees who work every day to provide reliable service to our community. It is also a time to highlight the unique value of community-owned natural gas utilities, where local decisions are made with our customers in mind.
We are proud to participate in this nationwide observance and look forward to sharing more about the impact of public natural gas and power throughout the week.
