Red Flag Warning Issued
Key Message #1:
Our entire forecast area is under a Red Flag Warning from 12-9 PM today. Although it will not be "overly-windy", gusts ranging from 20-30 MPH in the presence of very low relative humidity (RH) will drive at least marginally-critical fire danger.
Key Message #2:
Our north central KS counties are under a Fire Weather Watch for Tuesday afternoon-evening (12-9 PM), due to an expected combination of gusty southwest winds and very low relative humidity (RH). Near-critical fire weather conditions will extend northward into our Nebraska forecast area, but winds are expected to be overall-lighter and RH a bit higher.
Key Message #1:
Unfortunately, additional critical fire weather concerns could crop up later in the week (particularly Thursday per current forecasts).
