Red Flag Warning Today, Freeze Watch Saturday:
Above-normal temperatures in the low to mid-80s are forecast for today. Combined with dewpoints in the 20s-30s, afternoon relative humidity values of 10-15% are possible.
South-southwesterly winds with gusts around 30 MPH are expected. These winds, combined with low relative humidity, will bring critical fire weather conditions to the entire area. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon-midnight today.
Following the passage of a cold front on Friday, a chillier airmass and diminishing cloud cover, and lighter winds will allow morning lows on Saturday to drop into the 20s-30s.
A Freeze Watch has been issued for areas with the best chance of sub-freezing temperatures. Due to a warm early spring, vegetation green-up is roughly 3 weeks earlier than normal.
