Returners Key As Northwest Boys Gear Up For Season

(Grand Island, NE) - Northwest boys basketball Coach Evan Swanson is tickled pink with the core group of returners that are back for the Vikings for the upcoming 2024-2025 basketball season as the black and gold look to improve on an 8-15 season. 

Coach Swanson in his 2nd season as the head coach for the Vikings returns four starters from last year's bunch. Viking ironman Brandon Bykerk leads the way averaging 9 points and 6 rebounds a season ago. Also back from last year's starting list includes seniors Sam Dinkelman (7ppg) and Cam Walker (8ppg). Sparkplug starting guard as a freshman now sophomore Dawson Urbanski is back averaging 8 points per game. The Vikings will also have depth with playing experience from a season ago including Myles Erikson (SR), Jaden Brandt (SO), Luke Jensen (SR), Caejon Suttles (JR), and Hayden Atkins (SR). 

Northwest will fire up the season on Friday, December 6th hosting Kearney Catholic at 7:15 pm (103.1 FM) and Saturday, December 7th hosting Gretna East.
