Severe Weather Possible

National Weather Service

Key Message #1: There will be a chance for a few severe thunderstorms late tonight (mainly after midnight). Hail to the size of quarters and wind gusts 50+ MPH will both be possible for areas that do see storms (much of the area will likely be storm free).

Key Message #2: Elevated to critical fire weather concerns are expected Thursday, with the worst conditions anticipated across north central Kansas (where a Fire Weather Watch is in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM Thursday).

Key Message #3: A better chance for severe weather returns Thursday evening. This activity will have the potential to impact mainly south central Nebraska with a few supercells capable of producing hail to the size of golf balls and 60+ MPH wind gusts.
