Seward Sneaks Past Northwest Girls
(Hastings, NE) - The Central Conference basketball tournament held girls' semi-final games on Thursday night at Adams Central High School. In game one York defeated Crete 38-27. In game two Seward would defeat Northwest 50-38. The game would go back in forth in the first three quarters. Northwest would hit seven three-pointers in the first half to claim a 25-22 lead at halftime. Reagan McIntyre would have 19 points in the game to lead the way. She would have four threes in the first half.
The Vikings would hold Sewards leading scorer Kelsey Miller to just four points in the first half. She would take over the game in the third quarter scoring 13 points. Miller would end with 21 to lead the way for the Bluejays. After the two teams would be tied at 38 going into the fourth quarter, Seward would outscore Northwest 12-5 in the final period to claim the win.
Seward advances to the championship game with a 10-5 record to take on 15-2 York on Saturday, February 1st at 3:00 pm. Northwest slips to 12-5 on the season. The Vikings will take on 6-10 Crete in the 3rd place game on Saturday at 11:00 am at Columbus Lakeview.
