Sodbusters Edge Moo

Hastings Sodbusters

In a game that featured three separate delays, Hastings broke a six game skid with a 7-6 10-inning win over Fremont.

After a 20 minute pause when the lights shut off in the bottom of the final frame, Graham Hylton maintained his focus and battled from an 0-2 count, fouling off several pitches to earn a bases loaded walk to win it.  Pinch runner Jett Hannaford scored the winning run.

The Sodbusters had three straight two-out hits to take a 4-0 lead in the first. The game was paused twice in the first two innings for almost an hour for rain and lightning.

Drew Vega went 2-3 and scored twice. Luke Caussey tripled home a run and scored. He also made two diving catches to end the first and eighth innings to keep multiple runs off the board. Cohen Nelson pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief in his  Sodbuster debut.

Hastings host the Plainsmen for a 6:35 game Saturday at Duncan Field.
