Squirrel Causes Outage in GI

Eastern parts of Grand Island experienced a brief power outage late this morning around 11:30 a.m. A curious squirrel crawled in and caused a fault in one of our substations, which led to an outage affecting nearly 5,000 residents. It took just five minutes for crews to restore power and resume normal operations.
