St. Francis Receives Prestigious PRISM Award – First in the State

GRAND ISLAND — CHI Health St. Francis was recently honored with the prestigious PRISM Award from the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) — the first hospital in the state to achieve this distinction. The national accolade recognizes medical-surgical units across the country for outstanding nursing practice, leadership and patient outcomes.

Jointly sponsored by the AMSN and the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board (MSNCB), the Premier Recognition In the Specialty of Medical-Surgical award honors outstanding evidence-based practice, continuous learning and the creation of healthy work environments. Recognized for fostering a supportive environment that fuels healthcare innovation and nursing leadership, St. Francis’ medical-surgical/orthopedics nursing team was praised for its commitment to clinical excellence and quality patient care.

“What an incredible reflection of the hard work of our med-surg/ortho team,” said Kiley Grzywa, vice president for Patient Care Services. “It calls out our dedication to quality and how we ensure our patients receive exceptional care in a safe, supportive environment. It also highlights our role as a leader in nursing standards, continuously achieving outstanding results for those we serve.”

This distinction adds to St. Francis’ growing accolades, including Magnet with Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the world’s premier nursing excellence award earned by only 46 hospitals globally at the time. St. Francis also earned the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award and Healthgrades' Outstanding Patient Experience Award, placing the hospital among the top 15% of hospitals nationwide.
