St. Paul/Palmer Strikes First; Falls Short Vs Kernels
A busy week of Baseball kicked off Tuesday for the St. Paul/Palmer Cats as they hit the road to Cairo for a Varsity/JV bout with Rival Central City/Centura.
The Cats wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Alex Meinecke singled to left scoring Zandyn Weller from second base to take the early lead at 1-0.
The Kernels popped their way back into the contest in the Second Inning taking a 2-1 lead. The Third Inning rolled in favor of Central City/Centura as they added another six runs to extend their lead to 8-1.
St. Paul/Palmer tried to rally with one run apiece in the fourth and 5th inning however the Kernels got those runs back and then some with three in the bottom half of the fifth inning to round out the scoring at 11-3 in favor of the Home Team.
St. Paul/Palmer drops their record to 5-8 on the year. The Cats will be back in action Thursday on the road at Fairbury. The Game can be heard live on 97-3 the Wolf starting at 4:15 P.M.
