St. Paul Volleyball Preview
The St. Paul Wildcat Volleyball team will look to continue their winning ways coming into the 2024 season. The Cats fresh off of a record of 23-9 last year that saw an 8th consecutive Lou Platte Conference Title and Matt Koehn-Fairbanks pick up his 600th win as a Head Coach aim for a strong campaign without the help of any seniors as St. Paul comes into the year with only a couple of Juniors, a pack of Sophomores, and a few freshman for Koehn-Fairbanks as they graduated six seniors with no juniors in last years class. This years squad will be the youngest that Koehn-Fairbanks has led in 24 years of coaching and one of the smallest groups as well with 15 players on roster.
The Cats aim to work around a lack of size by focusing on developing their core of players for this year and next by focusing on the athleticism that the current roster brings to the table as well as handling the ball on their side of the court.
The Cats schedule this year includes the Harvest Festival Tournament in Gothenburg. A tournament that features the best in Class C1 including Host Gothenburg, Kearney Catholic, Chadron, and Ogallala amongst others.
The Cats can be heard this season on Country 96 for select contests as well as all postseason games this season!
