Steamers Edge Fightin' Cranes
Sedalia fought past Grand Island 5-3 in 10 innings in a matchup of the top two teams in the Diamond Baseball League on Friday.
The Fightin' Cranes took a 1-0 lead in the first on back-to back doubles from Ian Rodriguez and Anderson Schirm.
After Sedalia tied it in the third, Grand Island grabbed a 3-1 lead on a two-run homer from Sawyer Slade.
The Steamers rallied with runs in the seventh and eighth and scored two in the top of the 10th for the victory. Schirm was 3-4. Rodriguez finished 2-5. Allen Chorba worked the first seven innings allowing only two runs on three hits but didn't figure in the decision.
