Troopers Complete County Fair Efforts in Several Communities

July 28, 2026 (Burwell, Neb.)  — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol completed roadway safety efforts in several Nebraska communities last weekend. The efforts focused on some of the largest summer gatherings in the state.

Last weekend’s enforcement operations focused in the areas around the Buffalo County Fair, Lincoln County Fair, Webster County Fair, and Nebraska’s Big Rodeo in Burwell. Those events ran between Wednesday, July 22, and Monday, July 27.

During the effort surrounding those events, troopers arrested one person for driving under the influence. Troopers in those areas also issued citations for speeding (106), open alcohol container (1), driving under suspension (2), no seat belt (2), improper child restraint (1), and failure to move over (1). Throughout the rest of the state, troopers made a total of 17 arrests for driving under the influence.

These efforts were made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
