Troopers Make 38 DUI Arrests to Start End-of-Summer Effort

August 25, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — The Nebraska State Patrol reminds motorists to finish the summer driving season in a safe manner. The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign focuses on impaired driving through Labor Day, September 1.
“Our troopers have been working hard throughout the state to maintain safe roadways all summer long,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “As we close the summer travel season, there are still several high-traffic events going on.”
In the first ten days of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, troopers have arrested 38 people for driving under the influence. Troopers have also stopped 55 drivers for speeding at over 100 miles per hour.
Troopers will continue working overtime throughout the campaign, thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
