Two Arrested Following Search Warrant in North Platte

MAY 21, 2026 (NORTH PLATTE, NEB.)  —   Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested two individuals following a search in North Platte. 

At approximately 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, investigators performed a search warrant at a residence in North Platte as part of an ongoing investigation. At the residence in the 600 block of South Tabor Avenue, investigators located a handgun with magazines and ammunition, a set of brass knuckles containing a fold out knife, approximately one gram of suspected methamphetamine, less than an ounce of suspected marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. 

As a result, investigators arrested two individuals, Cole Picotte, 33, and Shyesha Bergen, 21, both of North Platte. Picotte was lodged in Lincoln County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of firearm while committing a felony, possession of a deadly weapon while committing a felony, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bergen was lodged in Lincoln County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, possession of a deadly weapon while committing a felony, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation remains ongoing. NSP was assisted by the FBI, CODE, Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, and Lexington Police Department.
