UNK Softball: Chvatal All-MIAA for a Third Time
Kearney, Neb. – Senior Mary Chvatal represents Nebraska Kearney on the 2026 All-MIAA team.
The league's 13 head coaches nominate and vote on the makeup of the squad and cannot vote for their own players.
Chvatal (Wahoo) is tabbed honorable mention for a third straight spring. She joins outfielder Carlee Liesch (2019; 2021-22) and first baseman Kate Ruwe (2014-16) as Lopers to be tabbed All-MIAA three times in a career.
Starting all 53 games and mainly at shortstop, she came at .286 with nine doubles, a triple, five RBI's and 29 runs scored. Chvatal tied the school record for walks drawn (36) for a second straight year and was 12 of 15 in steal attempts. UNK's leadoff hitter, she also led the team in hits (49), on-base pct. (.439) and assists in the field (93). Finally, Chvatal started games at second, third and center field.
UNK went 16-37 (5-19 MIAA) during the recently completed season, picking up wins over likely 2026 NCAA Tournament qualifiers Missouri Southern, Cal State Monterey Bay and Concordia-Irvine (Calif.).
