The seventh-ranked Nebraska Kearney wrestling team ran its win streak to nine in a row after a 28-10 decision over 21st-ranked Central Missouri Saturday night in Warrensburg.

It's a quick turnaround for the Lopers (15-3, 2-0) who return home Sunday to face the Newman Jets (0-3, 0-2) at 3 p.m. on Buckle Court. That MIAA dual was originally set for Jan. 12 but postponed due to weather.

To down the Mules (3-3, 0-1) once again, UNK used a forfeit, tech fall and two majors. Redshirt sophomore Crew Howard (Clarinda, Ia.) had the notable win of the night as he majored ninth-ranked Trenton Strong, 17-3. The fifth-ranked Howard continued his dominating year thanks to a first period take down and 3-point near fall and then a nine-point third period.

Next, sixth-ranked Zach Ourada (Omaha Skutt) needed just 5:00 to post a 17-2 tech fall to start the match. He reached that tally thanks to four takedowns, a 4-point near fall and escape. Finally, redshirt sophomore Nic Stoltenberg (Omaha Skutt) came back from a 6-1 deficit at 157 pounds thanks to two reversals, 2-point near fall and a third-period takedown with true freshman Drew Garfield (Central City) scoring all five of his points in the final period to come back and win, 5-4, at 141 pounds.
